Croesus is a rectangular wooden box for the small things that need a proper place: keys, jewellery, letters and whatever else tends to migrate across a surface. The gold-toned finish and red shoes make secrecy unlikely, but the fitted lid remains entirely capable.Each Croesus is built and painted by hand. Layered gold, coral, blue and black ornament runs across the lid and sides, with every curl and border drawn freehand. The dark base and small red shoes are finished separately, lifting the box just above the surface. Pattern and colour settle differently with each brush, so no two Croesus boxes are identical.Place it on a hallway console, dressing table, desk or bedside cabinet where it can be handled every day. Use it for dry objects rather than food. Clean with a dry cloth, avoid solvents and do not soak the painted wood. Croesus is intended for indoor use. The contents may be modest. The box has made other arrangements.
