Tom’s Drag’s animal figurines don’t take themselves too seriously and give every room that certain something. Every piece of art begins with a sketch on paper. This is followed by the creation of a hand-carved prototype, which serves as the mould for every subsequent piece. Each animal is then cast from the prototype’s negative mould, sanded down and hand-painted layer by layer. Checked patterns, ornaments, golden accents. As the brush is guided by a person – and not by a machine – each piece turns out slightly different. That is precisely why every piece of art from Tom’s Drag is one of a kind.
