Nelly is a cat full of contrasts. On the one hand, she wears a braided ponytail adorned with jewelry and has lips as red as a kiss; on the other hand, she has round reading glasses perched on her nose while she smiles invitingly. It is precisely this contrast that gives her her special charm.

Cat Nelly
Nelly is the intellectual cat, although her rainbow costume suggests serious thought need not be conducted in grey. Her composed expression gives the exotic ornament a wonderfully scholarly counterpoint.Cast in marble resin, Nelly is trimmed, sanded and painted by hand. Colours and patterns are layered across the form before the fine facial details are completed.Place her indoors beside books, on a desk or in a cabinet. Nelly may know the answer. Depending on its size, it is either cast in resin or handcrafted in fibreglass. Layer by layer, the colour is applied by hand. No two pieces are exactly alike — the artist’s hand always remains visible.
