Pear Box Avalon
Avalon is a lidded box in the shape of a pear, intended for the small dry things that gather wherever people live. Keys, rings, coins and folded notes fit beneath the removable top. The curved form sits neatly in the hand, although the colour ensures it will not disappear quietly into a drawer.Body and lid are cast and finished by hand, then painted in layers over a blue ground. Red, yellow and green ornament travels around the pear, meeting white and black details that are drawn freehand across the curve. The pattern continues over two separate parts without becoming printed or mechanically repeated. Small shifts in line and colour belong to the process, and no two Avalons are identical.Place Avalon beside a bed for jewellery, on a hallway console for keys or on a desk for the objects that otherwise move from one pile to another. It also makes a useful first Tom’s character for a home: functional enough to be handled every day and unusual enough to be remembered as a gift. Use it for dry objects rather than food. Clean it with a dry cloth, avoid solvents and do not soak the painted surface. A pear may be an unexpected place for safekeeping. That is part of its advantage.

painted, never printed
Six steps, many hands and one unmistakable character. From the first sketch to the final inspection, every figure is created with careful craftsmanship. Depending on its size, it is either cast in resin or handcrafted in fibreglass. Layer by layer, the colour is applied by hand. No two pieces are exactly alike — the artist’s hand always remains visible.
