Lola is a round wooden side table on three striped legs, built to hold a lamp, books or a tray while looking as though she has dressed for a rather better occasion. The proportions are compact and useful. The pointed shoes beneath them are entirely a matter of character.Each Lola is built and finished by hand. The circular top is painted in layered fields of orange, blue and turquoise, with curling ornament and black-and-white details drawn freehand across the surface. Pattern continues down the three legs to the shoes, so the table reads from every side. The surface is sealed for daily use, and no two Lolas carry the brushwork identically.She belongs beside a sofa, between two chairs, next to a bed or in the corner of a hallway where a little surface is needed. Lola can carry colour for a quieter room without demanding additional furniture around her. Use a dry cloth, avoid solvents and keep the painted surface away from direct midday sunlight. She is intended for indoor use. The job is straightforward. The shoes suggest she has chosen to make an entrance anyway.
