Alligator Francesco
Francesco opens his mouth wide enough to make a first meeting memorable, then rather spoils the threat with a crown and one conspicuous gold tooth. He comes in 45 and 110 cm heights. Both versions look delighted with themselves; the larger simply has more room in which to demonstrate it.Each Francesco is formed in fibreglass and finished by hand. Green scales, coral sections and curling ornament are painted in layers along the long body, with black-and-white details drawn freehand around the legs and back. The open mouth, teeth and gold tooth are completed carefully, and the removable metal crown is placed last. Every brush follows a slightly different route, so no two Francescos are identical.The 45 cm version belongs on a broad console, low cabinet or deep shelf. At 110 cm, Francesco needs the floor: beneath a long window, beside a sofa or along a wall that ordinary furniture cannot use. Keep the profile and open mouth visible; that is where the character announces himself. Francesco is intended for indoor decoration. He may appear ready to bite, but he has dressed far too carefully for that.
