Lucienne kneels forward with one arm resting across her legs and the other raised to carry a tealight on a 7 cm metal dish. The pose looks thoughtful until the candle is lit, when it becomes clear that she has arranged the entire evening around one exceptionally steady elbow.Each Lucienne is cast in marble resin, released, trimmed and sanded by hand. Coral, green, yellow and black-and-white patterning is painted in layers across the folded figure, following the long arms and bent legs without mechanical repetition. The face, dark gloves and metal dish are finished carefully at the narrow edges. Every pattern is drawn freehand, so no two Luciennes are identical.She belongs on a sideboard, dining table or broad mantelpiece where the raised dish and low posture can be seen together. Use a tealight of the intended size, keep the flame clear of painted sections and never leave it unattended. Allow wax to cool before removing it, then clean with a dry cloth. Lucienne is intended for indoor decoration. She may look lost in thought; the candle still requires yours.
