Mistral turns a full backbend into a place for candlelight. Hands and feet hold the long arch while a tealight dish rises from the centre, balanced above a pose that appears to have no easy beginning or dignified end. She is athletic, theatrical and entirely committed.Each Mistral is cast in marble resin, released, trimmed and sanded by hand. Layers of orange, turquoise, green and black-and-white pattern follow the sweeping curve of the body, with the smallest details drawn freehand around the hands and feet. The raised dish is completed separately, where the balance depends on a clean join and steady finish. No two Mistrals carry the pattern in precisely the same place.She needs a broad sideboard, console or dining table where the arch can be read in full. The low, wide outline works especially well beneath artwork or between taller objects. Use a tealight of the intended size, keep the flame clear of painted sections and never leave it unattended. Allow wax to cool before removal and clean with a dry cloth. Mistral is intended for indoor decoration. She has already taken care of the difficult posture.
